In observation of the day of national mourning for former President Ronald W. Reagan, the Benson, Pomerene and St. David Post Office will be closed on Friday.
A spokeswoman there said also that the U.S. Postal Service will not deliver mail on Friday.
Reagan, 93, died Saturday after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. The cause of death was pneumonia.
A state funeral will be held late Friday morning at Washington National Cathedral for the nation's 40th president, who is credited with winning the Cold War and the hearts of millions of Americans with his skills as the "Great Communicator."
On Tuesday, tens of thousands of Californians paid their respects at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif., according to The Associated Press.
The outpouring of grief stunned organizers of the viewing period at the library.
"We knew it was going to be high, but quite honestly we didn't know it was going to be this high," said Gary Foster, a Reagan family spokesman.
The demand caused traffic to grind to a halt overnight on the Ronald Reagan Freeway, with delays of up to four hours.
Mourners who made it through the traffic reported waiting up to eight hours for a shuttle bus at Moorpark College, even though the number of buses was doubled to nearly 50. By one estimate, Foster said, 17,000 people were waiting in the staging area. All had their belongings searched and passed through metal detectors before being allowed to board the buses.
The Associated Press said the visitors were a cross-section of America: retirees, business people, families, veterans.
Following the state funeral Friday in Washington, D.C., Reagan's body will be taken back to his California library for burial at sunset.
