SPV Little League
registration contnues
San Pedro Valley Little League baseball and softball registration continues this month on Feb. 7, Feb. 21,and Feb. 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., each day at the concession stand at the little league field. Birth certificates are required for every player. Tryouts for players entered in the Majors division will be held March 7 at 11 a.m.
Opening ceremony is Saturday, April 4 at 10 a.m. The parade of teams begins at 9 a.m. at Benson School.
Valentines Day
breakfast scheduled
The Benson Elks Lodge will host a special breakfast for Valentines Day on Saturday, Feb. 14, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The trustees will offer pancakes, eggs, sausage and juice for $5. Kids under 5 eat for $3.
This is a special fundraising event for the trustees of the Benson Elks. For information call Trustee Diane Pollard at 221-1110.
Free dinner, movie at Dragoon Baptist Church
Dragoon Baptist Church is offering a free dinner and movie, "Fireproof," starring Kirk Cameron on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m.

The St. David Heritage and Cultural Arts Society (SDHCAS) is holding its annual 1880s Historic Costume Ball Sat., Feb. 28, at K-Hall at St. David School.
The annual fundraising event is an Indian Wars Military Ball. There will also be refreshments, decorations, costumes and dances to learn and watch. Period costumes are preferred but not required. The dance will go from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. with the grand march taking place at 7 p.m.
There is a $5 minimum donation and there will be $50 costume prizes for children, men, women and couples. Contact Judith at 720-4325 for details.

Tournament format is four-person scramble with shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Regisration is at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $40 per player or $160 per team. Entry fee includes golf fees, cart and lunch. All-you-can-eat dinner plate includes spaghetti, sauce, salad, and garlic bread for $6.

Benson Unified School District will be offering "Love and Logic" parenting classes on Thursdays beginning Feb. 12, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m in the district office board room.
The classes will run for eight weeks and parents will receive a workbook for participating. There will also be door prizes and free babysitting provided. Open to parents with students in kindergarten through 12th-grade in any school. Call 586-2213 ext. 610.
