Benson Hospital hosts health fair
Benson Hospital is holding its annual health fair Friday, March 6, from 8 a.m to 1 p.m., on the hospital grounds, featuring an array of participants, cholestoral and glucose sccreenings, blood pressure checks and entertainment.
The Cowboy Poet Society will be on hand to provide entertainment from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., according to event organizers. The Hospital Auxiliary will also be holding a bake sale during the 15th annual fair. There will be plenty of participants with displays, information, etc., There is no charge for the fair and the public is welcome. Call the hospital at 586-2261 for more information.
Police host vehicle theft awareness Day
In coordination with Vehicle Theft Prevention and Awarness Day, local police, in partnership with Gilbert Police Dept., Arizona Automobile Authority and Weingarten Realty, will be at Wal-Mart on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

March workshops
Gallery of Dreams in Saint David will be hosting two art workshops in March.
On Saturday, March 14, Lil Leclerc will be teaching plein air painting. The definition of plein air is "of or being a style of painting produced out of doors in natural light." Lil will be taking the class out to a nearby location to paint the environment. This is an intermediate level painting class using traditional oils. The workshop is from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There is a $55 fee for this class.
Marcia Scarborough, will be teaching jewelry wire wrapping on Saturday, March 28. Students will learn the fine art of wrapping and twisting wire around stone to create jewelry. The class begins at 9 a.m. and will continue until completion of a pendant. There is a $30 fee for the workshop.
AZ Rangers hold
grave marking
The Benson Company of the Arizona Rangers will hold a grave marking ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Sunset Cemetery in Willcox, Ariz. The Rangers will be marking the grave of Territorial Arizona Ranger Pvt. John F. Greenwood, who served from 1905 to 1906. The cemetery is on Airport Road, past I-10.

Transportation is available to the J-Six area only for students enrolled in the 21st Century Community Learning Center at Benson School. Bus leaves Benson Middle School at 5:30 p.m. with first drop off at Rice and Warren roads at the Fire Department. Second drop off at J-6 and Navajo.
