Art Austin, Manager of the Tombstone Courthouse State Park, will give a free lecture Thursday, March 26, at the St. David School Lansing Auditorium at 7 p.m.
Austin is an avid historian and popular lecturer. Sponsored by the St. David Heritage & Cultural Arts Society.

Dragoon Mountains
car and bike show
The 2009 car and bike show will be held May 23 at "The Thing" parking lot, exit 322 off Interstate 10. Registration is from 7 to 10 a.m. with judging from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Awards will be given at 2 p.m.
Registration before May 5 is $20. Later or same day registration is $25. Registration includes a show T-shirt, gift bag, raffle ticket and more. There is no charge for visitors.

The Benson Fraternal Order of Eagles is hosting a bingo night tonight, March 25, at the aerie, 750 E. 4th St. The kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Cards are on sale at 5:30 p.m. and play starts at 6:30 p.m. The event is open to the public. Renowned author and artist, Janet Schrader, will be giving a lunch lecture entitled "Fused Glass: The Art of Creating Pictures in Glass" at Gallery Dreams on Thursday, March 26, at noon. Schrader has written 14 stained glass and glass fusing design "how to" books. Attendees can enjoy their lunch at the lecture.

AZ Rangers hold
grave marking
The Benson Company of the Arizona Rangers will hold a grave marking ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Sunset Cemetery in Willcox, Ariz. The Rangers will be marking the grave of Territorial Arizona Ranger Pvt. John F. Greenwood, who served from 1905 to 1906. The cemetery is on Airport Road, past I-10.

Dragoon Woman's Club Spring Fling
The Dragoon Woman's Club's annual Spring Fling Rummage and Bake sale will be held on Saturday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the historic Dragoon School Building.
Food will be available from a full menu food vendor.

Kiwanis Club to hold pancake breakfast
The Kiwanis Club of Benson is hosting a pancake breakfast in the park during the Blue Grass Festival on Saturday, April 25, beginning at 7 a.m.
The $6 breakfast includes: all-you-can-eat-pancakes, one or two sausage patties, and bottomless coffee, juice, or water.
The Kiwanis Club of Benson is fundraising to provide programs in local schools and other activities for Benson-area youth.

Transportation is available to the J-Six area only for students enrolled in the 21st Century Community Learning Center at Benson School.
Bus leaves Benson Middle School at 5:30 p.m. with first drop off at Rice and Warren roads at the Fire Department. Second drop off at J-6 and Navajo. Parents or guardians must be there to pick up children.

Benson kindergarten

The Benson Primary School will be holding a kindergarten round-up Wednesday, April 8, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Multi-purpose Room to enroll students who are age 5, on or before Sept. 1, 2009. Bring child in to meet the kindergarten teachers.
Students will receive vision, hearing, speech and academic screenings to ensure positive placements in kindergarten.
Copy of student birth certificate and immunization record required. Students who attend the kindergarten round-up will receive a free backpack and school supplies.
Trailblazers 4-H hosts ID program
The San Pedro Trailblazers 4-H Club is sponsoring a child identification program Wednesday, March 25 (today), 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 623 Foothills Dr., across from primary school parking lot.
The event is a free program offered by Masons of Arizona and part of a national effort.
Fine art, photography show upcoming
The 26th Annual Southeast Arizona Fine Arts and Photography Show is rapidly approaching.
