City reminder: Keep weeds to minimum

Published: Wednesday, May 6, 2009 10:12 AM CDT
The City of Benson would like to remind the citizens of our great community summer is right around the corner and we would like everyone passing through and living in our city to enjoy the sights and sounds that are all around us.

With that said, we ask that yards be kept in a neat and clean condition. The City Code states any weeds 10 inches or higher must be removed to avoid creation of a fire hazard.

We would also like to remind all who enjoy working on "hobby vehicles" that they need to be kept in a garage or back yard and must be stored in safe manner and not to be a hazard to children or others.

Recreational Vehicles [RVs] may also be stored in a back yard, but shall not be connected to any utilities including electricity, water or sewer, and shall not be occupied unless in a designated RV park.

All the citizens of this great community need to do their part to keep Benson beautiful!

" Come on Jeff. Everyone knows certain folks have people living in RV’s on their property all year round. These RV’s are connected to the power and water from a home or mobile home. It has been overlooked depending on who they are. It has gone on for years and won’t stop now. "
