Stephen Paul Tyra

Stephen Paul Tyra went to be with his Lord in heaven on June 2, 2009. He was born on March 25, 1952 in Carlsbad, N.M., to James Paul Tyra and Betty Jean Rohrer. He lived in Arizona most of his life, but lived in his beautiful Wyoming for a while.
He worked for the Pima County Department of corrections in Tucson, Ariz. for 23 years.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Tammy Herrera, Briana and Amanda Rose Tyra, all of Benson. Also, a sister, Cheryl Tyra; uncle and aunt Tommy and Joyce Thompson, Benson; mother-in-law, Mary Barker; brother-in-law, Dennis Barker and family, Benson; sisters-in-law, Susan Hohstadt (Barker) and family, Sierra Vista and Cathy Duarte and family, Tucson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Also, two grandchildren, Kacee Herrera and Jace Barker of Benson, who were the apple of his eye. A son, Michael James Tyra, a brother, George "Buddy Tyra," parents and grandparents preceded him in death.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Victory Worship Center, 2561 W. Ruthrauff Rd., Tucson, Ariz., on June 20, 2009, at 10 a.m. All are welcome.
