A monthly Parkinson's disease support group meeting is held every fourth Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the St. Timothy Recreation Building at Holy Trinity Monastery in St. David.

fundraising dinner
VFW Post 6271, 233 E. 5th St., is hosting a fundraising dinner Friday, Sept. 4 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Menu includes pork cutlets, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable, salad and roll.
Cost is a $6 donation to benefit VFW's color guard. For takeouts or more information, call 586-2197. Public welcome. Sunday bingo starts at 6 p.m. The kitchen for Sunday bingo is closed through Sept. 6.
VFW golf tournament
registration deadline nears
Deadline is Saturday, Sept. 19 to submit entries for the VFW Golf Tournament on Sept. 26 at San Pedro Golf Course, 926 Madison in Benson.
Tournament format is four-person scramble with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Cost is $45 per person and includes golf, cart, meal and prizes, along with [$10,000 hole-in-one contest] compliments of Freedom RV.
Tournament limited to first 36 teams to register and pay. Tournament proceeds benefit VFW AZ National Home for Children, Afghanistan/Iraq Veterans Assistance and the building fund for local Post 6271.
Make checks available to VFW Post 6271 or mail entries to VFW Post 6271, 233 E. 5th St., Benson, AZ 85602. The tournament is advertised as most patriotic, with all players adorned in a patriotic theme. Call 586-2197 for additional information.

Bible study for men and women will begin Monday, Sept. 14, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. There is no child care available during this study group. Classes for women and children will begin Wednesday, Sept. 16. Nursery available for babies, and preschool-age children 2 to 5, with monitored study room for home-schooled students.

Easy level round dancing is coming to Benson: Lessons are being offered on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Cochise Terrace RV Resort, one mile south of exit 302 off I-10 on Route 90 in Benson on the west side of the highway.

The Parks and Recreation Department will host a LaborDay Weekend End of Summer Party with free swimming on Saturday, Sept. 5 and the last dive-in movie of the summer will begin at 7:30 p.m. Gates open at 7 p.m. Cost for the movie is regular pool admission. On Labor Day, Sept. 7, there will be free swimming, music, prizes, free hot dogs and more.
