San Pedro River Arts Council nets grant
The Benson Arts Commission (now a 501(c)3 renamed the San Pedro River Arts Council) received an operating support grant award in the amount of $1,000.
The governor-appointed members of the Arizona Commission on the Arts approved $2,238,052 in matching grants to arts and community organizations and schools for the 2009-2010 fiscal year.
These grants are funded by the Arts Commission's state appropriation, the Arizona Arts Trust Fund, the Arizona ArtShare Endowment, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
After sustaining a 42 percent budget cut, the Arts Commission continues its 43-year history of providing support to Arizona arts organizations through assistance and services to bolster the growth of arts programs in communities large and small. Arts Commission staff provide expertise to help individuals, established and developing arts organizations, and schools develop arts programs to serve the needs of all Arizona citizens.
