The 12th Annual Benson Economic Outlook Luncheon will be held Friday, Oct. 2, at 11:30 a.m. at Cochise College Benson Center (doors open at 11 a.m.). Federal Aviation Administration /National Transportation Safety Board First Responders Workshop will be held Thursday, Oct.1, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cochise College- Benson Center, 1025 State Route 90, hosted by the Mescal-J6 Fire District and presented by Howard Plagens, NTSB Senior Air Safety Investigator. Topics include: Responding to an aircraft accident, first responder checklist, ballistic recovery systems, post crash guidance, and disaster assistance.

Beginning Oct. 15, interested parents may sign their children up for five horseback riding lessons offered by Debbie Miller, a retired horse trainer.
Children must be at least 5 and know their left from their right. Classes are aimed for beginners. Riders must be wearing full-length jeans or sweats and shoes or boots that will not fall off. Helmets provided. Parent or guardian must be present during each lesson.
