The St. David Tigers improved to 10-1 last week, taking down three more opponents and gaining strength in the 1A South Conference.
The Lady Tigers started the week off against Fort Thomas, where they were put to the test in a four-game match.
The Lady Tigers won the first game 25-23, but lost the second 25-23. They pulled together to put the contest away quickly, winning the third game 25-19 and the fourth 25-16, for the 3-1 victory.
"The match went really well," said Kaydee McWhorter. "We are learning to come together as a team and playing with intensity. I'm excited for the rest of the season because with each game we become a better team."
In the victory, McWhorter had 7 assists and 1 ace. Kayla Carpenter led the Tigers, scoring 21 points in the contest.
In the second victory of the week, the Lady Tigers took down the Academy of Tucson 3-1.
After winning the first game 25-20, the Tigers lost the second 25-23. They finished the match, winning the third game 25-19 and the fourth, 25-16.
Improving to 10-1 for the season, the Tigers closed out a busy week, defeating St. Augustine 3-0.
McWhorter led the charge with 14 points and 5 assists. The Tigers continue to stay strong at the serving line, with Kayla Vargas, Rachael Larson, Tarryn Lee, Carpenter and Marissa Webb; all were 100 percent at the line.
"This was for sure one of our better games," said Sheradee Lee. "The passes were consistently good and we never gave up on a play. I'm proud of our performance."
The Lady Tigers look to stay strong in the coming week as they host Green Fields on Thursday, at 5 p.m. and travel to Tucson to take on Tanque Verde on Friday.
