During her long teaching career, Mavie believed in and taught every student to his or her highest potential. Mavie's many interests included world travel, gardening, a love of feline friends and her talent for watercolor. She will be greatly missed by all her friends in southern Arizona.
Following a private internment, a memorial service was held at the East Social Center in Green Valley on Jan. 30.
