Valentine's Day concert for Benson Area Food Bank
A Valentine's Day concert to benefit Benson Area Food Bank will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, 4:30 p.m., at Cochise College-Benson Center, featuring Marico Wilson and Elizabeth Scott performing songs and music from the '40s and '50s, as well as a selection of Broadway musical hit songs.
The concert begins at 4:30 p.m. Admission by cash donation at the door. Tickets available at the food bank, Cochise College and some merchants. Call 586-3242 for details.

Benson museum and quilt gallery activities
Upcoming activities include judged art show in March, and "Learn to Crochet," class Feb. 20, at 9 a.m., at the gallery, 267 E. 5th St.
Cochise County artists are invited to submit their work for the show. Two-entry limit last week of the month. Most media accepted.

State law requires dogs older than 3 months to be vaccinated against the rabies virus by state licensed veterinarian. Dogs must be leashed and cats in carriers. Cost is $20.

The San Pedro River Arts Council presents "Fritts and Friends," works by Ron Fritts and his students at Cochise College, on display at City Hall Gallery. The Fourth Annual Knights of Columbus Logan DeRosier Council No. 7521 Marie Lovell/Barbara Hug Memorial Benefit Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, Feb. 21, at Turquoise Hills Golf and RV in Benson.
Four-person scramble,shotgun start 9:30 a.m. Registration 8:30 a.m. Cost $40 per player or $160 per team. Fee includes golf fees, cart and lunch. Prizes for hole in one, raffle prizes, 50-50 drawing. raffle Arzberger's saddle
The Willcox Cowbelles are raffling Marsha Arzberger's saddle as a fundraiser for the Marguerite Cook Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The fund was established in 1977 to area students majoring in an agriculture-related field.
The saddle maker, Fred Mueller, opened his first shop in 1891 at 1415 Larimer St., Denver, Colo.
Tickets are $10 each and no more than 200 tickets will be sold. Winning ticket drawn at dinner/dance March 13.

AARP to offer income tax preparation assistance
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program will have counselors available to provide free tax help for low and middle income taxpayers with special attention to those 60 and older at Benson Senior Center, 705 W. Union St., from noon to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11, Feb. 25, March 11, March 25, April 1 and April 15.
Taxpayers are asked to register at the senior senior center prior to the dates which they will be available for tax preparation.

Fairbank Day scheduled at historic townsite
Join Friends of the San Pedro River on Saturday, Feb. 13 for a day of music and photography at the Fairbank Historic Townsite (Highway 82, between Whetstone and Tombstone). Images by local artists Frank Baker, Robert Graf, Bob Herrmann, and Dwight Long will be on display in the restored Fairbank Schoolhouse.
The Broken String Band will be adding to the festivities with toe-tapping tunes starting about 11 am. The "Great Fairbank Train Robbery" re-enactment by the Tombstone Territorials will be at noon.
Docents will lead guided walks to the Fairbank Cemetery at 11 a.m. and to the site of the New Mexico and Arizona Railroad Depot (where the robbery occurred) at 1 p.m. It's all free, but donations are accepted. Call 520 459-2555.
