Giffords should reject health-care bill
Our Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords has always looked after her constituents. Even little ole' us here in Benson.
So I hope that she is paying attention to the opposition of the health care bill. I am frightened that this bill will pass, because it will affect many small businesses here in Benson.
The reform has been compromised so much that small businesses will actually be unable to afford health care. This will result in less hiring, and ultimately, more unemployment.
This bill needs to keep small businesses in mind, and right now it does not do that. I know Congresswoman Giffords has strong principles. I hope she uses them in opposing the President's agenda of jamming this bill through Congress.

How the heck do you know what is in this bill. Even our reps don't know.
Do you always believe what you read? Your assements are not true.
Read the bill. Then check out what you have been told like I have you are wrong. "

First, What you say is patently ridiculous! Even right wing news organizations report on what I said. Look at FoxNews or the Wall Street Journal. Information about the tax credits to small business is incredibly easy to find.
I always double check any information I write about. I want to influence public opinion and we all know that only opinions supported by the facts are worthy of respect.
You say "How the heck do you know what is in this bill. Even our reps don't know."
As I write this (Saturday morning) the reconciliation bill has been online for 48 hours. The underlying bills, both Senate and House, have been online for over 3 months. Of course they know. I know, I have been reading about these bills continually since last July.
And just to repeat because it's apparent you don't know either, small firms (include many sole proprietorships) would be in line for an immediate, extremely generous tax credit for buying insurance. Look it up, 35-50%. That's a big help.
But those credits aren't the only thing that help small businesses. Regulations are also included that will prevent insurance companies from raising premiums based on sex -- yes, women get discriminated against and have to pay higher premiums just because they are female-- and age. Small business get killed (excuse the figurative language) when one of their employees turns 50 or 60 years old -- premiums skyrocket!
Obama's bill will stop those practices too. Look it up. "

" The so-called "health care reform" bill does absolutely nothing to solve any of the purported problems. Rather it radically increases almost everyone's costs, increases taxes and "fees" on the poor and middle class, defies the U.S. constitution, benefits the insurance and pharmaceutical industries at the cost of the American people, and is nothing but a fraud.
Giffords is well aware of this, and (as always) votes and parrots the party line. "

Maybe she doesn't know about the generous tax credits of 35-50% for small businesses who supply coverage to its employees. That is, frankly, a lot of help. 50%? The government will soon pay half the cost of providing insurance to employees. So Francine has it backwards: this new helath care reform will help small business, help employees, make it easier for more people to get hired and make it easier and cheaper for more people to get health insurance.
Our representative Gabrielle Giffords is correct in her support of the new healht reform bill, for a variety of reasons. One of the many reasons is because this bill helps small businesses supply coverage to employees. "
