Event organizers and local business owners Terry and Denise Celentano said although turnout was lower, this year's event raised more than $14,000, $4,000 more than last year, including more than $7,000 worth of in-kind donations. These monies are comprised of sponsorship, golfers donations, and raffle tickets. The Cochise County Men's Amateur Golf Tournament Players Series was played one day a month starting in May at Mt. View in Fort Huachuca, June in Douglas, July at Turquoise Valley in Naco, ending at Pueblo del Sol in Sierra Vista. The event benefits the building of KM Chuck Wagon Reception Hall at All The Kings Horses Children's Ranch in Benson. The main sponsorships came from Ace Hardware of Cochise County, Apache Nitrogen Products, Inc. Boegemann Law Firm, SSVEC and Safeways of Cochise County. The Celentanos would like for the event to become an AGA sanctioned Cochise Amateur Golf Tournament, scheduled in early May, and open to golfers throughout the state. Major sponsorships are being sought so the winner receives a $750 prize, the largest purse allowed to amateurs.
