BENSON RACE: Knoblock proceeds to general

Justice of the Peace Joe Knoblock defeated Republican opponents Bruce Staggs and Eliot Montijo in Tuesday's primary election.

According to the unofficial results, Knoblock earned the vote to move on to face Independent Virgil Judd and Democratic candidate Marv Sorensen in November's general election.

With all six precincts reporting, according to the unofficial results, Knoblock beat his Republican opponents with 885 votes. Staggs finished the race with 577 and Montijo received 501 votes.
