Three young men from Boy Scout Troop 405 of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Benson ward, recently received the highest honor in scouting, the Eagle Scout Award.

Jesse Tapia, Sergio and Manuel Santiago were escorted at their ceremony by an honor guard composed of local full-uniformed Boy Scouts and the National Veterans of Foreign Wars, Benson Post No. 6271.

Congratulatory awards were presented by Benson Mayor Mark Fenn and Councilman David Lambert. Sen. Jon Kyl sent American flags that had been flown over the Capitol in Washington, D.C. in honor of the young men receiving scouting's highest award.

Jesse is the son of Martin and Eva Tapia. Sergio and Manuel are the sons of Pedro and Maria Santiago.
