Thankful for quick response

Published: Tuesday, August 31, 2010 6:31 PM CDT
The San Pedro River Arts Council would like to thank the staff at the Turquoise Hills Caf/ for their quick response to the catastrophe there caused by the Aug. 24 storm. They immediately assessed the damage to the caf/ and removed the art work of Charlene Kennedy, which was up on the inner wall. There was no damage to the artwork, for which we are very grateful. The caf/ will have to be totally remodeled, but will be open in time for the Gathering of Artists & Friends on Saturday, Oct. 23.

Thanks so much to all of you!

" Thank you to all involved in this effort! Although it's heartbreaking to the owners and employees of Turquoise Hills, its wonderful that you were able to save all of the artwork. Charlene Kennedy is a wonderful artist and it would be a shame to have lost any of her beautiful, unique pieces. I urge all of the readers to go check out her work if you get the chance. She is an Arizona and Cochise County native who has a wonderful way of capturing precious images of anything from animals to landscapes. "

" Thanks for the wonderful comment on my art. I stopped in to thank the owners for saving my art, but I can not say how bad I feel for them and all the hard work they have ahead. The Tripple Green is a beautiful place and I was and am proud to be hanging in their cafe. I also thank them for the chance that someone else may see and enjoy my art. Thanks again for the quick rescue of my hard work and for letting me hang my drawings at your fine establishment!!! "
