St. David Future Farmers compete in Safford

On Feb. 6 the St. David FFA participated in the Gila Southern District FFA CDE at Safford High School.  Other FFA chapters competing were Benson, Tombstone, Valley Union, Douglas, Duncan, Ft. Thomas and Safford, and a few schools from outside the district. 

Students competed in various career development areas.  

Team and individual results for St. David are:   Agronomy, first place team; Jessica Vincent, Annette Salinas, Chris Turner, Daleen Hamilton, with Jessica Vincent first individual; Aquaculture, third place team, Joel Kurzhals, Shane Cox, Jacob Smith, Andres Limon;   Forestry, second place team, Nate Goodman, Rulon Larson;  Nursery and Landscape Management, first place team, Mason Judd, Michelle Goodman, Gunner Funston, Mason Judd, first place individual. Also recognized for wildlife CDE from last November,  Nate Goodman, Joel Kurzhals, Shane Cox, Colton Stirling and Jacob Smith,  placing third in district.
