On Saturday, March 30 cowboy agritainers attending the Crossroads Gathering at River Bend Ranch will hold a benefit dance for the Benson FFA. The Crossroads Gathering was held in Van Horn, Texas for the last four years, with the proceeds from the dance going to the Culberson County 4H Club.

This year the event will be held at the River Bend Ranch, 1288 S. Astronomers Rd., Benson, in conjunction with the finals of the winter roping series of the Southwest Ranch Roping Association.

The format of the Crossroads Gathering is to give cowboy poets, singers and storytellers who are breaking into the genre a place to perform where they can also sell their cd’s and books.

In addition to the regular stage activities, roping and benefit dance, there will also be two open jams sessions. Not only is the public invited to these jam sessions, they are also invited to play in them as well. The music for the FFA benefit dance will follow a “rolling band” concept. The singers and musicians performing at Crossroads are donating their time and playing for free, allowing 100 percent of  proceeds from  dance to benefit Benson FFA.
