BENSON — Benson Hospital officials are rejoicing the facility’s Level IV Trauma Center recertification on behalf of the Office of Emergency Medical Services of the Department of Health and Human Services.
The accreditation is vital, particularly in a community bounded by major interstate and thoroughfares.
“We are honored to continue to provide trauma care to the people of our community,” said Teresa Vincifora, Chief Operating Officer at Benson Hospital. “Maintaining a Level IV designation requires commitment from our staff and the entire organization. Our providers are board certified in emergency medicine and our nurses are trauma care certified. This designation is a result of hard work and dedication of numerous members of the Emergency Department and Trauma Program. No one expects to need these services, but it is comforting to know expert care is available close to home when you need it most.”
As a Level IV trauma Center, Benson Hospital has demonstrated the ability to provide advanced trauma life support including evaluation, stabilization and diagnostic capabilities for injured patients, states the hospital news release. Benson Hospital also has transfer agreements with other regional trauma centers for patients who require more comprehensive care.
