BENSON — San Pedro Valley residents can offer a lifesaving gift over the holiday season with three opportunities to donate blood.
“Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, more than 1 million units of blood could be transfused in the United States,” according to the American Red Cross announcement. “Individuals are urged to give a lifesaving gift this holiday season by making an appointment to donate blood and help the American Red Cross ensure a sufficient supply is available for patients throughout the holiday season. Those with type O blood are especially needed.”
Local residents can donate blood beginning Saturday [Dec. 7] at the Benson Escapees SKP RV Park, 600 E. Saguaro Dr., from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Benson Lions Club’s blood drive will be held at the clubhouse, 599 S. Dragoon St., on Dec. 19, noon to 5:30 p.m., with another drive set Dec. 30 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Benson Hospital, 450 S. Ocotillo Ave.
Drives will also be held throughout Cochise County.
