Feed Benson Thanksgiving: The annual Thanksgiving meal is open to the public at First Baptist Church, 983 S. Ocotillo Ave., on Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thanksgiving Service: St. Raphael in Valley is holding a Thanksgiving Service on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 5:30 p.m. St. Raphael’s is located at 730 S. Hwy. 80. The public is invited.

VFW Dinner: There is no dinner Friday, Nov. 29 due to Thanksgiving holiday. The next dinner, Dec. 6, features beer-battered fish, french fries, coleslaw, cornbread, dessert, coffee or tea. Cost is $8. Dinner served 5-6 p.m. Call (520) 586-2197 for takeout or information.

Santa Village: Cpl. George Salcido Marine Detachment invites the public to The Arena Bar on Friday, Nov. 30 for a Santa Village, games and photos with Santa. Proceeds benefit the detachment’s annual holiday to drive.

Feed Benson Thanksgiving: The public is invited to the Seventh Annual USMC/Legion breakfast: The Marine Corps Detachment and Legion Riders hold their monthly breakfast on the first Saturday monthly, Dec. 7, 8 to 10 a.m., serving biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, coffee or juice. Cost is $6.

Benson Lions Club: The Benson Lions Club breakfast, on the first and third Sunday monthly, is set for Nov. 17, 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., serving pancakes, eggs, bacon, coffee/tea, juice for $6. Proceeds benefit local charities and schools.

Benson Historical Museum: The new mastodon tusks exhibit, on-loan from the U of A Paleontology Dept., is a “knock-your-socks-off, can’t-miss” addition to the museum’s Curtis Flats Prehistoric Mammal Bones Exhibit, notes Museum Director Judy Lee. The exhibit joins an 1800s era parlor exhibit belonging to Andrew Jackson Ritter, a Tombstone undertaker, along with the DeGrazia art exhibit. Jazz Ensemble: The Cochise College Jazz Ensemble,“... back by popular demand,” returns to Cochise College Benson Center for the annual Winter Concert on Friday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. There is no charge for admission. Word crafters: The San Pedro Valley Word Crafters is a writer’s group in town, meet and network with writers of all genres, skill levels, published and unpublished, on the second and fourth Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Benson Public Library, 300 S. Fall Festival: Helping Hands at Cochise Terrace is holding its Fall Festival Crafters Fair Saturday, Nov. 30. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in “The Barn” at Cochise Terrace, with 15 local vendors offering hand-crafted items. Satisfy sweet tooth at the bake sale then enjoy a hot lunch of soup or chili. Sponsored by Helping Hands with all proceeds donated to non-profits that benefit area seniors or children.

Holiday Craft Fair: The 7th Annual Holiday Craft Fair will be held Saturday, Nov. 30, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Pomerene School Gym, 1336 N. Old Pomerene Rd. The event features vendors showcasing jewelry, art, sewn creations, home decor, baked goods, holiday gifts and more.

Letters to Santa: Benson Pony Express will be carrying letters to Santa and Christmas mail on Saturday, Dec.7. Pony Express riders will depart Dragoon at 9 a.m. and hand off mail to Santa Claus at noon at Apache Park during Christmas Off Main. Stockings for Soldiers: Pomerene Elementary School and the Parent Teacher Organization are collecting stockings for soldiers. “Please help the PTP stuff stockings to send to active military and veterans. We will be collecting items, cards, letters and stockings until Nov. 29,” states the announcement. A collection bin has been set up in the front office at Pomerene Elementary. Please no glass, hand sanitizer, sharp objects or aerosols. Donations of snacks, puzzle books, holiday themed items, notepads, beanies, etc. are being sought.

CPR classes: The Mescal-J6 Fire District offers CPR training classes are held monthly. Cost is $35 for Basic Heartsaver CPR or $40 for BLS Healthcare Providers.
