Students attending St. David Unified School District have just over a week remaining of their summer break before the start of school.
Classes at St. David begin Wednesday, Aug. 7. School administrators are eagerly awaiting the new year.
“I am looking forward to this new school year,” commented Arlene Kennedy, St. David Superintendent of Schools, now in her second year at the helm. “We have a lot of new initiatives and programs that will ensure we will reach our goal of excellence. I am confident that we have a magnanimous team of educators and experts ready to ensure that all of our students are well educated and presented with all of the positive opportunities available.
This is the second year of excellence and I welcome it.”
The Back to school Open House will be held Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 6 p.m. Visitors are asked to meet in the high school gym for a brief welcome, followed by introduction of new staffers and a tour of the campus.
There are some changes in store with the departures of Pam Bradford and longtime instructor Veronica Howe.

Jason Taurins, Micheal Beilas, Maria Estevez Gonzales and Bary Judd. Judd, a former coach and longtime instructor has come out of retirement for the 2019-20 school year.
