It’s that time. Feed Benson Thanksgiving is set Wednesday, [Nov. 27], at First Baptist Church, 983 S. Ocotillo Ave. The seventh annual event is underway from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Thanksgiving Day, volunteers at San Pedro Valley United Methodist and St. Raphael Episcopal/Lutheran Churches, open their doors at noon for the traditional meal at SPVUMC, 636. S. Hwy. 80. Volunteers also deliver hundreds of holiday meals to homebound residents.
Michelle Beel, organizer and founder of the annual event, said she expects more than 300 people for food and fellowship at First Baptist’s Feed Benson. “We will be preparing the entire traditional Thanksgiving meal,” she said. “Everyone is welcome to join us.”
Typically, close to 20 turkeys and pounds of potatoes and fixings are prepared and served by the many volunteers who lend a hand at Feed Benson Thanksgiving. Call First Baptist Church, (520) 586-3362, for more information.
