BENSON — Separate rollover crashes Monday made for an eventful Monday for area first responders.
The first, a fiery rollover east of Benson, occurred during the “early morning” hours on eastbound Interstate 10 at milepost 321.2 east of Benson, resulting in one patient transport to Benson Hospital via ambulance, authorities said. Extent of injuries was not immediately available by press time.
Later, at about 2 p.m., and older modeled SUV, pulling a trailer with non-running old vehicle in tow via trailer and hitch, rolled just east of the I-10 302 on ramp which required closure.
The crash sent the vehicle off the trailer and across the guardrail into the desert area on the south side of the interstate.
There were no injuries in that crash, the driver, Stephen Davis, said at the scene. He lost control of the vehicle he said after the trailer began to fishtail. He and another vehicle occupant were en route to Pennsylvania from Tucson.
There was no other immediate information available by press time.
