Julia Ann (Fredrickson) Murphy
Julia Ann (Fredrickson) Murphy passed in her sleep on 17-April-2020 at her home in the SKP Saguaro Co-Op park in Benson, Arizona. Julie was born in Washington but together with her husband Jimmy they chose Benson as their second home as founding members of the SKP Saguaro Co-Op. Though she was born on 12-June-1928, she remained a graceful 35 years old until the end, always maintaining her slender figure despite her refusal to ever turn down a piece of chocolate or a glass of red wine.
Julie was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart and eventual husband James A. Murphy (1926-2001). Julie and Jimmy met when they were 3 and 5 years old respectively and their enduring love inspired anyone who knew them. Together they could move worlds, but instead they decided to explore this one; visiting sights all over the globe making cherished memories. Often hilarious, their adventures — and misadventures — were related in such detail and were told with so much panache (both had the gift of storytelling), that the tales will live on forever, told and retold by her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia “Tricia” and Thomas Kesterson, her son Michael F. Murphy and a veritable slew of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. Once you befriended her, you were Julie’s Ohana – you were part of her family. Her graciousness, wit, and kindness will be very missed.
