Everyone close to the border knows the importance of Fort Huachuca to the economy of Cochise County. We also worried last year when Congress seriously considered retiring the A-10 fighter jet program from Davis-Monthan in Tucson, a city whose economy also affects Cochise County economy.
Martha McSally, a retired Colonel who flew the A-10s in combat, is the right person to fight the bureaucracy to keep the Fort and the Air Base running and help our economy. She knows the military and its needs. She knows how to lead, and will fight for Southern Arizona.
Martha’s character, and her belief in choosing right over convenience was proved when she took on the Defense Department’s policy forcing American women soldiers and airmen to wear Muslim covering when going off Base in Saudi Arabia. She won that battle, affecting her future military career negatively, but assuring our military women would be treated with respect.
Vote for Colonel McSally on Nov. 4th and let’s take real leadership and concerns of our women citizens to Congress and have a congresswoman who can help improve the economy around Benson and the rest of Cochise County.
