The Benson High School Bobcat golf team is well on their way to a successful, growing season.

“Going into our fourth week of practice and second week of competition (including two matches and one tournament), I can definitely say that I am very pleased with how our team is progressing,” Bobcat varsity golf coach James Howe said.

A total of 13 golfers fill out Benson’s 2020 roster (including three freshmen — which Howe knows is good for his program).

“So far this season both junior Seneca Wilson and senior Tyler Antonucci have recorded personal best scores,” Howe said. “Junior Tyler Smith has picked up where he left off at the end of last season as our number one golfer and has greatly improved his game.”

With the bulk of the season still ahead, Howe is hoping for the best finish yet in his four years as the head coach for the Benson golf team. Assisting Coach Howe are Coach Garrett Tanner, Coach Jeff Christensen, Coach Asher Arnold, and Coach Ron Rivera.

The Bobcats next competition will be at home on Tuesday, March 24.
