ST. DAVID — Following the close 48-40 defeat at NFL YET, the Tigers will look to improve to 2-1 on the season in another road encounter at Anthem Prep on Friday.

It’s a game Tigers’ head coach Braden Davis and the Tigers, 1-1, would like to have against 1-2 Anthem in what amounts to the second of five straight road games.

At NFL YET, Logan Davis threw for five touchdowns, completing 23 of 35 pass attempts for 337 yards. Ryan Gooding, a freshman, completed six of 11 passes for 45 yards and an interception.

Reo Larson and Robbie Gooding each brought down a pair of touchdown receptions. Jacob Goodman had a touchdown catch as well and Kason Jacquez ran for a touchdown.

The Tigers led 12-0 at the end of the first quarter, and although St. David added 20 in the second quarter, NFL scored 36 second-quarter points to hold the 36-32 lead at the half. The Tigers, after a scoreless third, quarter scored eight points in the fourth quarter. NFL scored six points in each of the final two quarters.

Larson with 10 tackles, Talon Haynie with eight and Jacquez with six led the Tigers’ defense.
